Gabrovo Municipality is a partner in the "Place out!" project. It is an initiative aimed at increasing youth activity and leadership in the non-urban areas of the European Union. Through the application of urban regeneration - a conceptual framework for improving the physical and environmental aspects of areas - the project aims to encourage young people in leading policies for sustainable regeneration of rural areas in Europe.

The main aim of "Place Out!" is to revitalise areas through learning opportunities for the young people living in them. Abandoned, disused or underused buildings are common. Empty spaces, disused schools, factories or land can have a negative impact on the quality of life of residents and the attractiveness of an area, but also represent untapped potential and missed opportunities for local communities.
Instead of remaining neglected, the EU is giving voice to inspiring transformations where these spaces have become anchors for positive change. Abandoned buildings are being reborn as vibrant community hubs, hosting events and workshops that revitalise social interaction and cultural vitality. Creative hubs blossom with artistic expression, attracting tourists and enhancing the cultural identity of the area. Public spaces are reimagined as recreational areas, youth zones, parks, playgrounds and green spaces that promote physical and mental well-being.
"PlaceOut!" is part of the European programme "United European Youth" (Erasmus+ Key Action 3), which aims to build networks in close cooperation with young people to promote regional partnerships. The joint actions of ten partners of the "Place Out!" project take place in four project areas in Spain, Greece, Italy and Bulgaria.
