The greatest ecological festival in Bulgaria - "Uzana Meadow Fest" and this year did not pass without the participation of the Youth Center - Gabrovo. The youth zone of the festival was entrusted to us by the organizers and for three days it was a place for meetings, relaxation, games and challenges.
The volunteers of the Youth Center were also this year on the lawn before everyone else to make the arch for the entrance to the festival. She welcomed guests to the event and each visitor stopped to take pictures with both the logo and the herbs harvested from the meadow.
"Wake up with Gerry" with a "sometime" class was a sports initiative aimed at the not-so-early-risers who missed the early morning yoga and paneurthym, but needed a little movement and a dose of sports tone. Muscle fever did not deter the enthusiasts and they woke up with the Youth Center on both festival mornings.
An ecological festival cannot take place without the participation of scouts. Although young, our scout troop organizes the tent camp for the volunteers of the Youth Center and the relaxation area - a nice place with hammocks for rest and fun. On Saturday, the scouts participated in the organization and games of the Scout Olympiad, organized by the National Scout Organization of Bulgaria, which demonstrated the main activities of the scouts and required speed, agility, logical thinking and teamwork.
Throughout the festival visitors could also participate in the Youth Center's interactive game "Young and Green" by completing three challenges. They aimed to make young and old slow down and look at nature - from a different angle and up close, because we seem to have forgotten this communication a little. Take a photo of a bug, take a photo of a tree from the bottom up, take a selfie with the festival arch and post it all on the Internet, marking the festival, the Youth Center and the motto of the game "Young and Green", were the tasks that brought a reward to all those who did them fulfilled.
In the youth area we played board games and also the Interactive Museum of Industry game where we aimed to create a factory of the future, think about what it would look like, what it would produce and how it would fit into people's environmental aspirations. At our stand we were also able to present the activities of the youth center, interest clubs and get many new ideas for future events and initiatives.
"Uzana Meadow Fest", we look forward to seeing you again next year, young and green again, with new ideas and even better at pitching tents and bivouac!
