The festival "The Rivers of the City - Gabrovo - Youth Events Against the Current" is being launched this year, from August 23 to 25, again at its usual location, in the Yantra River. This year, expect even more surprises, exhibitions, a rich music program, workshops and lots of sunny emotions.

Workshops of the festival "RIVERS OF THE CITY - GABROVO - YOUTH CASES AGAINST THE CURRENT":
We are happy to share that we are hosting a 'Shadow Theatre' which gives everyone a chance to unleash their potential using only and only their own shadow.
There are certainly people who wanted to participate in a theatrical production, but something stopped them from realizing this wish of theirs. Maybe the worry, or the stage fright... Or the directed gazes of the spectators, forgotten lines...
We encourage you to immerse yourself in the artistic scene during our favorite festival "Youth against the tide"! Shadow theater represents movement with the body and play with light, and the role of the participants is to explore and express different emotions, their silhouettes becoming living images that tell stories. It is a space where shadows come alive and take us on a journey through the world of feelings.
Commitment is required for the three days - August 23, 24 and 25, start of activity: 16:30 to 21:00.
The workshop is suitable for the age group of 14 to 29 years.

The idea is as follows:
Day 1: Shooting pictures depicting states and emotions that will be projected during the festival.
Day 2: Creation of a poetic theatrical production, inventing scenarios, rehearsal.
Day 3: Give a short performance of between 5 and 10 minutes on the festival stage.
We also invite you to join us on a crisp afternoon with a glass of bazonnade in one hand and a paintbrush in the other! The date is August 24 (Saturday) with a start time of 17:00. The Decorative Boat Workshop, held between August 16-18, will present their works at the festival, which carry different river stories on sails made as cyanotypes! Cyanotype is an experimental photographic technique increasingly common in contemporary art. Emulsion containing iron salts is applied to the textile. We put a negative or an object on the soaked base, which we expose to the sun for a few minutes. We wash with water and get our blue print.
The result of the LEGO sculpture workshop led by the sculptor and artist Alexander Valchev will also become clear at the Rivers of the City festival Gabrovo on August 23. You can check out the non-functional structures with broken shapes from an underrated structural material – cartons!
Between August 23 and 24, the National Youth Forum and the European Youth Card will take part in the "Rivers of Gabrovo" festival.

24th of August they will again participate with a stand and will do from 15:00 о`clock. Goodwill Workshop.They will present European Solidarity Corps and for volunteering opportunities.
On Sunday – 25.08 festival visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops on:
From 11:00 a.m. on Modern Dances;
From 16:00 in a circus art workshop;
From 15:00, in a lecture on creativity led by Filip Boyadzhiev.
Come on August 24 at 10:00 a.m. to clean the Yantra together! Together with our partners from dm Bulgaria, we join forces in the fight for cleaner and social rivers. We believe that with the right action, rivers and riverside spaces can become vibrant places for art, recreation and culture. The volunteer initiative to clean up the Yantra River aims to contribute to the protection of the environment, biodiversity and water, as well as to create a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
During the cleaning, the most adventurous will be able to participate in "Treasure Hunt" - a game with surprises prepared in the perimeter of the action by our partners dm Bulgaria. We will provide the necessary tools, gloves and bags of recycled plastic to anyone willing to change the urban environment with us.

Rusita – a native of Gabrovo, puppet actress, sound engineer and musician. She makes original music in Bulgarian in the genres of pop, rock and rnb and has prepared for us her interpretations of favorite familiar pieces in this spirit.
The Rusita Acoustic project emerged as an opportunity to perform her original music while still recording her debut album.
