Giraffe walking during the festival Rivers of the city - Gabrovo - Youth events against the current - this is how young people imagined part of the future of the festival - very interesting, cheerful, a little absurd and challenging and very youthful.The topic of the development of the event and how to create communities around it to get involved in the organization and make it more in line with the opinion and needs of young people in the city, was one of the topics of the Gabrovo Innovation Camp 2024.
The group was led by Maria Padalski and was extremely diverse. It included students from Gabrovo, Sofia, Plovdiv and Vratsa, young people living in the festival area, representatives of the organizers of the event - Youth Center - Gabrovo and the "Collective" foundation, who have been responsible for its happening for 3 years now, representatives of art the community in the city, architects, representatives of the NGO sector, etc. Martin Zaimov - Bulgarian financier and politician, former deputy governor of the BNB - joined the group. 
During the three days it worked, the group debated its challenge and drew up the first steps for action - meetings with young people and the community, trainings, precise tasks, exchanging ideas with communities from other cities that participate in the organization of the festival.The beginning of the work has already been given with the first online meeting to discuss the exact dates and the first invitation to the fans of the event – to join the ranks of the organizers and share their ideas.
The group also used the creative people in the camp to do their first research around the festival, and brought a stone from the river for their performance. Whether he will be able to find a giraffe and how exactly this will happen remains to be seen.
