World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on the 10th of October It aims to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize the efforts of professionals in terms of support, care and treatment for better mental well-being. According to the World Health Organization, mental health conditions are a serious threat to young people's lives – they affect one in seven adolescents worldwide, with depression emerging as a leading cause of illness and disability in adolescents.
Good mental health enables us all to cope with challenges, connect with others and develop throughout our lives. This is vital and deserves to be recognized and respected.
Mental health is a topic whose importance is often overlooked in the busyness of everyday life or the subject of a societal taboo. Overcoming uncomfortable topics is important because it can lead to better understanding, acceptance, higher communication and greater tolerance in society.One of the ways to overcome them is by discussing them openly. Gabrovo Youth Center opposes the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health through education, health campaigns, public discussions and other forms of communication. Mental health is a universal human right, we all have the right to access quality treatment that meets our needs and respects our rights throughout our lives.
The psychologist from the center's team organizes an informational meeting based on the idea of the youth, related to panic attacks. The meeting will be held in the office of the youth center from 16:00 to 18:00 on 09.10.2024. (Wednesday). In an informal setting, it will be discussed:
- What do we feel during a panic attack?
- How to recognize the symptoms of a panic attack?
- What is the difference between panic attack and panic disorder?
- What is the difference between panic attack and panic disorder?
- Stress management.
