You may remember November 1 last year. "Modern Awakeners are our teachers" was the motto of our event where students chose and awarded their favorite teachers for being inspiring, understanding, fresh and young in spirit, for supporting and seeing the best in them, even when no one else sees it.
This year we challenge you to the same, but in a slightly different format:
Gabrovo Youth Center announces an essay contest on the occasion November 1 – Day of the Awakeners
RULES
The Day of the People's Awakeners - a holiday inspired by the people who in the past preserved the people's spirit, paving the way to knowledge. Today there are also such personalities and we are sure that we can find them with your help. We're sure there's at least one teacher in the school you are currently studying in who impressed, inspired, motivated or saved you, who gave you an example, direction, courage or purpose. Tell us about him and why he is so special and valuable to you in an essay written according to the following requirements:
Volume: up to 3 printed pages
Sheet size: А4
Font: Times New Roman – 14 pt,
Spacing: 1.15
Layout: Double-sided alignment
Title: Capital letters, bold, after the title one blank line;
Author: First name, middle name, family name, school and class - bold
* Only students from 8th to 12th grade, studying in high schools and secondary schools in Gabrovo, can participate in the contest.
* You can write an essay only for teachers who are currently teaching you, from 8th to 12th grade in Gabrovo high schools and secondary schools.
Deadline for sending: 29.10.2023 at 23:59 to the e-mail address yc@gabrovo.bg
Each work written according to the specified requirements will be evaluated by a committee composed of:
Martina Grueva – Gabrovo Youth Center;
Stanislava Yaneva - Gabrovo Youth Center
Elena Nemska - member of the "Bookworms" reading club at the Gabrovo Youth Center
Ivan Hristov - creator of the "Notebook"
The results of the contest and the essays will be published on the official page of the Gabrovo Youth Center, on Facebook and Instagram.
Both the authors of the essays and their inspirations - the teachers for whom they wrote - will be awarded.
We will evaluate the strength of the teacher-student relationship, the creative abilities of the writer, and of course – literacy.
We encourage any non-standard addition to the essay - acrostic, drawing, greeting, song, video, expression of what was said with formulas, chemical compounds or syntactic parsing!
