Intermediate conference under project № BGLD-2.001-0009 "Opportunity for young people - creating a youth center in Gabrovo" was held on 22 April 2024. It was attended by Tanya Hristova - Mayor of Gabrovo Municipality, Ivan Lyubomirov - Deputy Regional Governor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Hristo Nedev - Deputy Rector of the Technical University - Gabrovo, representatives of other youth centres from the country, cultural institutions in the city, schools, educational organizations, partners in the implementation of various events, companies-contractors under the project, media.
The project is funded through the EEA Grants 2014-2021 under the programme "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups" and the grant amount is 4 286 850 BGN . The Municipality's own contribution is 2 267 129 BGN. It will last from 20.10.2020 to 31.08.2024. The partners in its implementation are the Technical University of Gabrovo and the University for Green Development in Bryne, Norway.The project is co-financed by the partners and the European Green Partnership.
The project management team presented to the participants all the stages of the project implementation - public procurement, contracts signed, activities implemented. Special attention was paid to the joint initiatives with the Norwegian partner - visits, trainings and sharing of good practices with the project team, the Youth Center and young people from Gabrovo.
The team of Gabrovo Youth Center and its initiatives were presented, which aim to develop the capacity of young people, encourage their participation in decision-making for the city and their community, leadership, professional orientation, volunteering and media literacy. Organised events and initiatives in the fields of culture, sport, ecology, creativity, healthy living and mental health were also presented. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of projects by the young people from different workshops - drawings, photographs, clay masks, bird houses, illuminated figures.
An invitation was sent for the next event organized by the young people - "Festival of Flowers", which will take place on 27 April 2024 in the park "Markotea" in Gabrovo.
