Art has the power to inspire, unite and give voice to important social issues. This is exactly what the exhibition “Drawing Women’s Strength and Courage” achieved, featuring the works of young people from Gabrovo. This initiative, organized by the Gabrovo Youth Center, is already attracting public attention with its important message against violence.
The exhibition is the result of a creative event held on November 23, 2024, where participants created paintings inspired by the theme of women's strength and courage, dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. These works are now traveling through key public spaces in Gabrovo, and are currently on display in front of the Ritual Hall of the Gabrovo Municipality.
Each painting is unique – some tell of struggle and pain, others inspire with messages of hope and change. The works use a variety of techniques and styles.
"Violence should not be taken for granted. Through art and community, we can show that there are alternatives – respect, support, and the courage to fight for a better world," the organizers share.
The exhibition does not simply present paintings, but raises an important social question: How can we unite against violence?
The paintings evoke not only emotion but also action. They remind us of the importance of the strength that every woman carries and the need to be a society that supports her.
