The second edition of the Auto-moto-bike event will be held on September 29, Sunday, at Vazrazhdane Square. It is organized by the Youth Center - Gabrovo, it is dedicated to road safety and aims to direct the attention of all road users to our behavior behind the wheel, on the street, on a bicycle or a scooter, as well as to the most important thing - the preservation of life.
Three simulators will be available for the event visitors to try out. Those over 17 can ride a machine that simulates a head-on crash and one that recreates a car rollover.They will show us in a controlled environment how the human body feels and is stressed when it suffers an accident. While both simulators are safe to try, if you are over 18 you must sign a declaration. And if you are 17, you also need a parent's permission. Persons under the age of 17 and without signed declarations will not be admitted to the simulators. You can download the declarations from here.
Simulator statement for an adult
The third simulator is provided by Desita Driving School and will give you the opportunity to drive a car - also in a controlled environment. It is also suitable for the younger participants of the event.
"Auto-moto-velo" will also pay attention to the recently popular electric scooters. Lovers of electric scooters will be able to participate in a route prepared by the Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior - Sector "Road Police" - Gabrovo.The track is designed for youth from 14 to 18 years old. Attention - the law prohibits persons under the age of 14 from driving electric scooters! Wearing a helmet is mandatory for participation. In addition, all parents and young people will be able to find out about the legal regulations related to electric scooters - who can ride them, at what speed and where.
For the bicycle classics, there will be a competition for skilful cycling – but this time for the longest distance traveled on a rear tire and also for balancing two tyres. They, and their colleagues with scooters, will be able to find out about the future construction of tracks and pump tracks in Gabrovo.From 10:30 a.m. in the big tent on the square there will be a presentation of the conceptual projects for the riverside area of the Yantra River and for the "Bajdar" park, with an emphasis on downhill tracks, a children's playground, a jumping area and a pump track. Young people will also be able to ask all their questions related to these areas.The tent will also screen the film "We Can't Turn Back Time", and there will be a lecture on safe driving by the Safety Driving Academy, who know a lot about the behavior of the car in snow and ice, about the correct driving technique, adequate reactions in critical situations, as well as the mental preparation for recognizing and anticipating dangers.
The event with tents and activities will also be attended by the Preventive Information Center - Gabrovo, who will talk about the use of alcohol and drugs, the Bulgarian Red Cross - Gabrovo - young people will show how to provide first aid in the event of an accident, and the Regional Fire Safety Directorate – Gabrovo with a special vehicle, Technical University - Gabrovo, who will present their specialty "Industrial and automotive electronics" and the electric car developed by students. The youngest participants will also be able to take part - in the area of the Regional Administration - Gabrovo, with interesting games on the topic of traffic safety.
Rally driver Nikolay Ganev will provide his personal racing car, which is equipped for closed circuit racing. Every visitor will be able to see what a high-speed car should look like, but with a special construction for safety - completely different from the cars we have.
The event starts at 10.00, and in addition to the interesting information about road safety, all visitors will be able to participate in a raffle with prizes. For this purpose, they must get a coupon from the tent of the Youth Center - Gabrovo and visit all the information tents, where they will receive a stamp. Those who have collected all the stamps will have the opportunity to receive various prizes.
