In the European Year of Skills, the guard unit at PTG "Nikola Vasiliadi" and the scout unit at the Gabrovo Youth Center are involved in a great adventure on the meadows in the village of Gergini.
A youth camp on survival and dealing with disaster situations will be held there, which will be led by a team from the Professional Sergeant's College at Vasil Levski National University.
The training will take place under the motto: "Being prepared for the potential risks associated with global climate change", in the context of the European Year of Skills. The aim is to transfer knowledge and skills (characteristic of military expertise) to the civilian sector, in response to the increased challenges of the time.
The youth will learn how to organize a bivouac, start a fire with improvised means, get food, purify water, make a camouflage mask, they will get knowledge of orienteering and signaling methods.
The two-day tent camp will be opened on May 29 at 12:30 p.m., in front of the Local Government Training Center in the village of Gergini,
The training will be led by instructors Sergeant Boris Georgiev, Sergeant Tsvetan Tsanev, Sergeant Stefan Ivanov, Sergeant Svetlomir Kaharkov, Sergeant Alexander Peev and officer candidate Krum Vachkov - director of the Professional Sergeant College at Vasil Levski National University.
