As of today, Gabrovo has its own new CULT place, which its creators named the Gabrovo Cromlech. The art installation in the city center was built from old barrels as part of the event "Challenge yourself" on the initiative of the Municipality of Gabrovo. On Saturday, the students from the Encaustic School painted the many barrels to give them a new life, and what a life it was - inspired by the Gabrov jokes with drawings in the style of Boris Dimovski. Thus, a week before the Carnival, fragments of Gabrovo anecdotes and their characters appeared in the city space to delight the people of Gabrovo and the guests of the city. The variety of colors and catchy drawings not only bring mood, but fully correspond to the main idea of the installation – to be a real positively charged place. Observant passers-by have already noticed the thick red line that runs through the barrels. And if in recent months we have been constantly hearing about red lines that oppose and divide, today the art of the young people of Gabrovo showed how there are red lines that unite skills, talent, mood, traditions, innovation, generations. We challenged them to create the Gabrovo Cromlech, they challenged us to preserve it for a long time and we spread its glory.
Volunteers at the Youth Center-Gabrovo unleashed their imagination on old school chairs, which they painted with favorite characters and abstract paintings.
The youth plan to use the barrels and chairs in the upcoming August event "Youth Events Against the Current".
Apart from the talented artists, flower art was also created by all those who joined in planting flowers in the special places for them, under the mentorship of the landscape architect of the city. The planting material was grown in the greenhouses of the Landscaping Department, from where flowers were also provided for anyone brave enough to show what they can do in the green challenge. Do we know how to recycle, protect nature and how we can reduce our carbon footprint – this was the other focus of the green challenge, which will unfold over three days in July at the Uzana Polyana Fest.
New and interesting drawing techniques were taught to the smallest children. With the help of the representatives of the Faith Public Support Center, they created wonderfully beautiful cards with flowers to take home and make someone happy with them. The bravest of them painted with the young people from the Youth Center - Gabrovo on wooden chairs, which in just a few months will become decorations for the Rivers of the city, the most anticipated youth event during the summer months.
There was also music with the talented performers from Upstream voices with vocal teacher Tsenka Goralova, who gave the people of Gabrovi a wonderful Saturday concert.
The event is jointly organized by the Municipality of Gabrovo, the Regional Information Center, Europe Direct Gabrovo and the Youth Center of the Municipality of Gabrovo.
It is part of the General campaign of the network of 27 regional information centers to promote their work and expert functions, as well as the Cohesion Policy of the European Union.
