ANNOUNCE
NATIONAL ONLINE PHOTO CONTEST for PUPILS (high school level) and for STUDENTS
on topic
"THE BEAUTY IN PHYSICS"
The competition is part of the annual Youth Science Session, which will be held as part of the 51st National Conference on Physics Education in 2023.
It is part of the events included in the National Plan to mark the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (https://iybssd.bg/).
The purpose of the competition is to provoke participants to observe, seek, capture and share the beauty in physics in all its diversity in nature or as a result of human activity. To present their attitude and feelings towards specific objects of their works.
The photos are sent to the address physconfedu@phys.uni-sofia.bg, with a copy to m_d_eko@abv.bg (add in the subject: "photo contest"). We expect from each participant one author's photo in jpq format and the information listed below.
The photo can also be taken with a phone.
Necessary information:
– for photography: name, brief description of the beautiful in it and its connection with physics;
- for the author: first and last name, class/course, contact phone and email, educational institution

Deadline – March 15, 2023.
By participating in the contest, the author agrees to the following conditions: grants free of charge the right to have his work classified, selected, displayed on various Internet resources, shared on social networks, printed and exhibited for the needs of the contest and subsequent events organized in connection with him.
Evaluation criteria:
– description of the beautiful in the presented photography and its relationship with physics;
– artistic presentation.
The results of the competition will be announced on 30.03.2023 on the website of the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria: http://upb.phys.uni-sofia.bg.
All participants will receive certificates, and the authors of the awarded photos - plaques and certificates.
The best works will participate in a photo exhibition (first presentation - April 2023 in Sofia), which will be uploaded to the site of the European Night of Scientists 2023 - K-TRIO project. The photos awarded with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the two age groups (students and pupils) will be published in the magazine "The World of Physics" and printed in a brochure for the Youth Scientific Session, which will be uploaded to the websites of the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria and of the European Night of Scientists - 2023.
The time and place of awarding will be announced later.
